More Apples & Alpacas

We visited another apple orchard today - this time red apples (top pic). The apples were ripe enough for her to eat one right off the tree - she loved it.
We also visited an alpaca farm. They were very friendly and Linh thought that "they were so cute.
Linh's boyfriend (Thomas) picked her up at my cabin early this evening - he is driving her back to Morgantown, WV (WVU).

Peaches & Prunes

Linh started her day attending a late church service with Jim and Heather.
We all then went to visit fruit orchards!
Top Pic = Linh's 1st visit to a peach orchard! She picked and ate one fresh off the tree! She love both the sight and taste!
Bottom Pic = Linh in prune orchard. She was amazed what a beautiful purple color they were. Unfortunately none were ripe enough to eat.

Long Day

Today Linh, Long & I drove from Rehoboth Beach, DE to Baltimore, MD to Dulles Airport, VA then to my cabin in WV <--- lots of slow traffic all the way - ugh!
We did visit the Baltimore National Aquarium - top pic.
Linh and Long say goodbyes at Dulles airport - bottom pic. Long will fly from Dulles to Abu Dhabi (UAE), then to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC aka Saigon). His total travel time = 40+ hours!
Linh's boyfriend (Thomas) will pick her up at my cabin tomorrow and drive her back to WVU (Morgantown, WV).
I want to express my gratitude to my brother (Kent) and his wife (Honey) for hosting us in Rehoboth Beach, DE. They were great and patient hosts!

Apple Trees

Linh has been in US for 1.5+ years - but she has never seen an apple tree WITH apples <-- her favorite fruit. So - we stopped by an apple orchard on our way back to my house!

Rainy Day

Cloudy and light rain all day. Son Linh and Long shopped most of the day.
This evening, sky cleared, cool temperatures, so we ate al fresco and, of course, shopped some more & attended a free outdoor country/western concert. None of the aforementioned was worthy of any pics.
So - above pics are of Long and his Rehoboth Beach girlfriend. Her name is Shelly aka "Shelly Belly" because she likes to have her belly scratched/rubbed.

1st Vineyard

Since arriving in US 1.5+ years ago, Linh's "bucket list" has included visiting a vineyard. After a long day shopping (stuff for her relatives in Vietnam) and spending time at the beach, Linh can now cross-off vineyards from her bucket list!

Atlantic Ocean

Long had his 1st swim in the Atlantic Ocean today! My nephew (Kevin - left in above pic)) taught how to use a boogie board!
This morning we went to the local farmers' market & Linh was amazed by the large, fresh peaches! But - we spent most of the day at the beach.
This evening I took Long to the go-cart track. He was "couldn't believe" how fast they were!
All are enjoying the beach!

DC & La Fourchette

After a full day at the zoo (see below), this evening (Sunday) we had dinner al fresco with Anita & Jeff at my favorite French restaurant in DC = La Fourchette (= "fork" in French) in Adams Morgan - I had my favorite, foie gras, Linh had pork pate, and Long had filet mignon.
Tomorrow we leave for Rehoboth Beach, De to visit my brother (Kent), his wife (Honey) and their son/my nephew (Kevin). All enjoyed!

National Zoo

We spent most (6+ hours) of today (Sunday) at the Smithsonian National Zoo - top pic. As was true in most cases, Linh & Long were fascinated by the animals, how well landscaped (lots of shading trees) the zoo was, and how clean & spacious the animal enclosures were! Again, Long took 100's of pics!

Fyi - US Capital was covered by scaffolding and no good pics were possible.
