"Lucky Money"

Red Envelopes are given to house guests and all children on the first day of the lunar new year. Each envelope contains small amounts of money that are considered "lucky" to the recipient.
Above pic is of a few recipients with their lucky money envelopes.

Note that Linh is wearing a traditional (albeit modern version of) Vietnamese Ao Dai! <-- this was the first time I have actually seen her wearing an Ao Dai!
