Flowers are a traditional Vietnamese gift for Tet. I know that for years Linh has asked her parents to buy her a sunflower plant and that they never had gotten her one! This year was no different. So - I insisted that Vinh (Linh's father) stop and let me buy a sunflower plant for her.
